Physical Characteristics: Growing up at Alassa Major, a resort world, reflects in her habit of wearing simple but fitting dresses. Rhyss favours a dark blue tunic with a collar. On top of it, she usually wears a bandolier containing a datapad and occasinally a few other useful items. She likes to wear short trousers and open shoes or sandals, or boots. During her studies at Corulag University of Economics, she actively took part in the university triathlon team. After leaving Corulag, she continued with her sports endeavors at the University of Coruscant. Though she could not be described as ‘sporty’, she is distinctive for a constant tension in her muscles. She has light brown hair which she dyes to a hue of red-brown, and very bright blue eyes - ice blue to some - that seem to turn dark gray when she’s upset. Rhyss is about 5.5ft tall (1.7m)… and you should never ask a woman about her weight.
Biography:
Born about 28 years ago to Crowe family, her father was a proprietor of a moderately prosperous hotel and spa, which he liked to call “leisure resort”. Her mother Rhiannon was a descendant of a long line of Donnell family, a once powerful house of the Alassa. Generations ago, the Donnells have lost their influence and wealth due to a series of badly planned investments.
Rhyssa’s brother Vic was ten years older than her and when the duty called him, he abandoned whatever burden his parents were planning to lay on him and followed the call. He returned after the war, decorated with a few medals and caused no little grief to his family when he announced he decided to go professional.
To his little sister, he seemed like a hero from the old tales and Rhyss had been the only member of the family who did not forsake him. While he stayed at Alassa Major, she talked him into giving her a basic training of the Army. She was decided to follow in his footsteps when she would grow up.
However, that was not meant to be. A week after Victor left the planet, the Crowe were briefed about his death in an accident. A shuttle that was transporting him from a space station to his platoon’s ship, the Temple Shadow*, hit a force field of the station’s landing bay and exploded. Inquiries were being pursued but despite the pure impossibility of such accident, no culprit has ever been found.
This accident has influenced Rhyss more than she would even admit. It was that reason for which she abandoned her plans to become an infantryman (~woman?) and chose to focus on pursuing and indentifying criminals.
At the age of 18, she entered the Corulag University of Economics, to comply with her parents’ wish. They aimed her to be the next generation of Crowe family, another “leisure resort owner”. After a few months, Rhyss decided her life was hers to decide and made a neat drop-out. Despite the fact that their only child has failed them, her parents loved her still and she knew it and used it.
Five years after, she graduated University of Coruscant, College of Justice, with an A. During her studies, she had to meet a few real-life cases of criminality and she always felt shocked about the depth of their background, the reason that led to them and often desperate and twisted ways of thinking.
As a result, she signed back at the University of Coruscant, College of Social Studies, Psychology and Xenopsychology. Rhyss was adamant that understanding a sentient’s soul was crucial to not only properly punishing criminal transgressors, but to preventing them from villainy.
Her academic dissertation “On Motives, Or Identifying The Troubled” caused a bit of uprising among her tutors, since she didn’t talk small talk and omitted even basic political corectness from her texts. However, she graded a B and graduated from the University once again, just a few weeks ago.
