Flaws:
Nethaniel is a very kind person, but because of his upbringing he has adapted a very stark view of the universe. He sees things in a simple black and white, right and wrong. To him there is no middle ground. To him, he sees that much of the universe is self-interested and wants to place the few over that many. Greed and self centeredness rules over the desire to have all people truly equal. Despite this, he refuses to be evil equal to what he sees; he refuses to allow anyone to place the will of the few over the will of the whole. He also refuses to take life in nearly any situation. This makes him extremely anti-military. That doesn’t mean he’s stupid about militarist reality of things.
He comes from the outer rim and thus has a very different view of things as they are. His whole political career has been trying to keep the pirates of the Kethol sector from invading his newly rebuilding sector. Because of this he has offended a number of Bounty Hunters that work directly with the pirates. There are a number of small bounties of his head.
Like any normal person he has a number of things that really just annoy him or leave him disconcerted. His only main fear is rats. But this is so great that he will avoid being near one at almost all costs. Another slight fear is that of space travel. He will fly, but will avoid doing so until the last possible moment.
He is a very political person, and as such has his secrets and “skeletons” in his closet, but these will have to be discovered by those willing to search around and snoop into his past.

Biography:
To understand his background a brief history of the sector is necessary.
The Minus Cluster contains three major planets. Each is located in a solar system of its own, but all are very close; thus the naming as a cluster. The first main planet Aderlon was a tourist planet before the fall of the New Republic. It had a wealth of natural resources, but the first founders on the planet simply ignored that and took advantage of its year round temperate weather. When the Republic collapsed, tourism slowed to a standstill leaving the planet without a source of income. They soon turned to farming and became a very wealthy planet from helping others in their system.
Karideph, one of the other planets in the system, suffered. It had a population of near 100 billion when the republic collapsed. The planet’s dwellers were insect-like and lived in extensive underground caverns. They depended heavily on importing food from other planets because they couldn’t grow any underground. The result of the collapse was devastating to them. Without the open trade they had had, thousands died of starvation. Within months there once booming population was reduced to less than thirty or forty thousands. They soon called out for help from their neighbors. Realizing that their planet was perfect, the Aderlonians began to use their temperate weather to farm year round. They soon came to the Kari’s aid and formed an agreement that in return for food, the Aderlonians could have free control of the surface of the planet. This coalition continued for years until another planet began to move in.
Pergitor had long stood as the last planet before the Kethol system and the rest of the universe. The planet had long been striped of all its useful minerals and was barely habitable due to toxic vapors that were constantly released by its many active volcanoes. The inhabitants were forced to mine off planet moons and the meteor belt to make enough money to buy food. When the Republic fell, their life changed little. They continued to buy food, now from Aderlon which was the only planet nearby that was willing to have open trade that far towards unknown space. The Pergitorians had little choice because they had to eat, and maintain a small fleet to keep pirates at bay.
Ten years before Nethaniel’s birth, a Pergitor leader decided that he was tired of wasting so much money on food. He began peace talks that would eventually lead to, first: the combining of the three planets under one, system, ruler, and second: a cold war to determine the leader that would last until a little less then a year before Nethaniel’s birth.
The decision to unite the system was easy. With the constant threat of pirate attacks in the Pergitor solar system, the Aderlonians realized that they were all the stood between them and their ripe planet. Soon after the union was made, public elections were held. Two real political parties appeared, the Traditionalists, or the farmers from Aderlon who wanted everything to continue as it had been, and the Progressivists, or the workers from Pergitor that wanted to begin immediately harvesting the rich material deposits across the system and building a fleet strong enough that the pirates would never dare to attack. The campaigning was fierce and open violence was not unknown to occur. In the end, the Traditionalists won by a small margin, but the Progressivists were unsatisfied.
Soon after the results were announced the Progressivists sent threatening letters, condemning the election as rigged and demanding that their representative be placed in office as the rightful victor. A harsh refusal was sent in response and no return was ever received.
Just when the situation was thought to be resolved, rumors arrived at the government central that the Progressivists had taken complete control of the Pergitor fleet and were threatening war without recognition of the “real” ruler. The Traditionalists responded by beginning to build their own fleet of newer, more powerful ships.
The cold war continued until Nethaniel’s father entered the political scene. Jorgan Kardelon Soren entered as a Traditionalist with the ideal that the battle of words needed to stop before the two systems poored themselves trying to out do each other. He was a common farmer from Aderlon, but was married to a noble of the former Pergitor ruling class. Both were good, kind people that wanted only to see everyone get along like they did. So, Jorgan began talks that eventually led to another open election. But this time is was different.
Running against more than ten other candidates, Jorgan was the only one not to choose only one side to support. He was honest and open winning the confidence of both sides. He won the elections by a landslide, and began his life long service as the system ruler. During the next twenty years he would fight to hold the two factions together. True peace in the system would not appear during his life, unfortunately. Soon after this hallmark moment in the systems history, Nethaniel was born.
Nethaniel was born four years before the organization of the Imperial Republic. His great mother died in child birth, leaving Nethaniel as an only child. His father would never fully recover from this terrible lose throughout the rest of his life.
Despite his great love for his son, Jorgen was unable to bear the memories that his dead wife’s son would bring to him. Because of this, Nethaniel was raise mostly away from his father at his parent’s old farm. At the age of six he began a life-long education that only a ruler’s son could receive. He studied deeply in the art of politics and warfare. He was taught to hate war and it’s results, but not to neglect it’s uses. He studied as many of the universes great books on warfare and became very proficient and the art thereof. The greatest downfall of his learning was in things that didn’t really need to be learned to govern after his father’s death. He never learned to pilot and it is because of this that to this day he dreads the thought of having to travel through space.
Other than his studies, Nethaniel lived a normal farm life. He grew into a handsome youth and was always careful to maintain his fitness. He also traveled Aderlon’s surface discover many things about the time before the fall of the “New Republic.”
When he turned twenty, Nethaniel was suddenly summoned to the government central. His father had contracted a rare disease and was drawing to the end of his life. On his death bed, Jorgen begged for his son’s forgiveness for not being with him more. Nethaniel, full of resentment for that part of his life was forced to smile and, to comfort the old man in his death, lied that he forgave him.
On that day, he disappeared from the government central and wasn’t seen again for a whole year. During that time the peace that his father had worked so hard to keep crumbled. The factions reemerged in force and the cold war was picked up exactly were it had left off.
After a year, Nethaniel reappeared. He was much different than before. The Traditionalists were the first to approach him, hoping to use his family name to gain more support. He refused, but agreed to act as a neutral third party to help resolve the problem. In his new position he began a two year process that ended to conflict permanently. When a new election was held, both sides chose him to be their candidate. With no competition, he won the election and began his rule.
After a time, Nethaniel decided that it was time the system got involved in the Imperial Republic to open new options for the systems progression. He chose six of his closest friends, two from each of the main planets and left them to deal with the governing of the system. They would deal with simple matters and forward by ship the larger decisions that could be put off for him. They would also have to pass any changes in policy through him before it could affect all the system.
Now Nethaniel has arrived on Coruscant…
