Unofficially, the Stoic Guardian.
The Stoic Guardian is heavily modified from the original design when the hull was laid down in the Csilla shipyards in 32 ABY, and was the only ship of her class and the oldest capital ship still in active service when Durandal retook it. It had been fully rearmed twice in its service life, the latest arming it with new heavy and light megamaser batteries, no turbolasers. The spherical bulge in her hull is rumored to contain a powerful two-stage cloaking device allowing for normal full cloaking, leaving most of her sensors blind, or a semi-cloaked ‘shadow’ mode, rendering her nearly invisible but allowing her to function normally. The forward of the two capture bays and tractor beam batteries was sacrificed in favor of a massive torpedo battery and ammunition storage. The port and starboard hangers each house a wing of upgraded Clawcraft fighters armed with heavy masers. The rear ventral capture/shuttle bay is fully functional with two heavy tractor beams and a squadron of drop shuttles. To help match her younger rivals, the Guardian’s shields were strengthened by augmenting the original emitter array with a more modern one, more than doubling her shield strength and allowing her to feign weakness by keeping the new array offline until the old array’s shield is about to collapse. Unlike the Imperial design, the Chiss style spread the generators and emitters through the entire hull of the vessel, inlaid into the hull. Designed before Chiss shield technology had caught up to the rest of the galaxy, the thick hull was designed so that the Guardian could take an amazing amount of punishment for a ship of her size after losing shields and keep right on fighting, sacrificing over half of her troop carrying capacity for reinforcing of the superstructure and internally honeycombed bulkheads.
Property owned: Various trinkets and trophies collected over his career.
Appearence Clothes : Uniforms, from Full Dress all the way down to Duty Coveralls.

Background
History :
After graduating from the academy and being commissioned as an officer in the CEDF, he had a rather uneventful military career, performing admirably when he did see action. He managed to arrange to not be transferred, but to rise up the chain of command on just one ship, the Stoic Defender, eventually becoming her captain.
On border patrol, the Stoic Defender, while cloaked, encountered a pair of scout ships, and determined their course would bring them dangerously close to the CEDF defensive perimeter around colonial station Chaf. Durandal called his senior staff into the briefing room adjacent to the bridge, and discussed options. Their orders did not allow them to warn the unknown scouts to turn back before they were automatically fired upon. Durandal had objected to the automated border defenses and the weakening of the manned border fleets, and felt this was an example of what happened when the politicians ignored him, his staff agreed, save one, the representative of the Aristocra. Durandal ignored him, broke his orders and decloaked his destroyer in front of the scout ships, causing them to panic and flee.
In the resulting courts martial, which was a show put on by the Aristocra, Durandal was stripped of his rank and cast out of the CEDF. A new captain was placed in command of the Stoic Defender and Durandal was forced to retire to his family home on Rentor, angry and alone. Until his first officer came for a visit, and confronted him, telling him what a useless old man he had become by giving in and sitting around. He then asked Durandal come with him, to see the Stoic Defender at least one last time. He agreed and they headed to orbit in a shuttle. Before they reached her, the majority of the crew and officers who had served under Durandal and knew what had happened mutinied against their new captain, and hailed him as their only true captain.
Fleeing Ascendancy space after offloading all those who did not wish to defect, Durandal and his crew headed for an Imperial Republic outpost, unsure what the future would hold…
Type of Childhood : Raised primarily by his mother, his father was a junior officer on a CEDF frigate, usually deployed.
