Joe Quick is an idealist that strives for peace. Though he cannot achieve his ideals, he always tries to make the best of everything, and realizes that while things will never be perfect, they can always be better. He is skeptical of one person welding too much power, but recognizes that organized central power is important to achieve peace and stability. He is highly talented in telepathy and is able to read minds with ease as well as influence minds. While not fully trained in the Force, he comes close in telepathy skills to the Supreme Ruler himself, though only a select few know of this special power. He has basic Force training, also unknown save to few.

Biography:
Josefus Alastar Quick was born on Corellia. He was raised and lived on Duros for a time, while his parents worked for the Improvement Effort Coalition to clean up Duros, as it had been used as a garbage dumb by the Galactic Empire and heavily polluted. His parents died at age eight. At that time, Joe snuck aboard a trader ship and hitched a ride to Corellia, to find his relatives, his family being very predominantly Corellian. He wandered the streets of Corellia for two years before finding his aunt, who took him in and became his legal guardian until he came of age. He was raised by his aunt from ages 10 through 18, and put through regular school where he became interested in law and enforcement.
He joined up with CorSec at age 18, recieving a CorSec scholarship and recieved training from CorSec, which also paid for him to get a JD degree in law. He rose up through the ranks of CorSec up to the position of High Marshall. During this time at CorSec, he meets Ieyena Cohean who is one of his agents. The Diktat of Corellia orders CorSec to hunt down some smugglers for high crimes, and Joe assigns Ieyena to the mission. Ieyena later discovers that the ‘smugglers’ were actually Jedi Knights, of which the Diktat wanted eliminated, perceiving them to be a threat to his position of power. Ieyena is angered by this, assumes that Joe was the one who ordered the mission, and defects from CorSec, deserting her assignment and making off with CorSec property. This upsets Joe greatly who sends out a search party for her and searches for her for a long time.
He retires from CorSec at age 35. Joe begins practice as a lawyer for the commonwealth, helping with good cause cases and poor individuals, refusing to do the high paying jobs that were for bad causes or defending criminals. He gained much popular support in the eye of the people for his work, and is elected as one of their local leaders. The Diktat later on appoints him Planetary Governor of Corellia, to appease the population’s request and slight upset with his own leadership, hoping to keep an eye on Quick, and appease his subjects. Corruption of the Diktat gets worse and Quick helps the people overthrow the Diktat in a military coup, and by voice of the people, becoming Governor-General of Corellia. This catches the eye of the ambitious and industrious James T. Stratus, head of Stratus Industries.
The Corellian system has suffered severly economically from the dictatorship of the Diktat, having closed down many corporations by murdering its leaders and employees, seizing its property, and destroying many facilities, perceiving them all to be threats to his power. Joe Quick is left with a sector in turmoil and a market crash. He searches for a large and trusted industry to help manange and finance the jump-starting of the Corellian economy, ship producing industry and trade market. Three big industries bid for this, and eventually Joe is pleased with Stratus Industries, it being one of the most trusted industries over all the factions and sector governments, having unique services, security, and products to offer, such as the only company to provide Bacta on the market. Jim Stratus secures the bid and reaches a legal financial agreement with Joe Quick, to help start various Corellian corporations under the Stratus Industries banner, with SI getting a third of all profits. Joe notices Ieyena attending with Stratus at one of the meetings, and wants to call it all off, he having a large personal vendetta with her, however is influenced by Stratus to leave the matter alone and focus on the important matter at hand.
Under the leadership of Governor-General Quick, the Corellian sector forms a stable government and economy, thanks to the assistance of Stratus Industries and Koranchs Enterprises. Joe Quick develops his own faction with great popular support from the residents of the sector.
James Stratus arranges a meeting of all the faction leaders to propose a formation of a central galactic government to restore order and peace to the galaxy, with the help and guideance of Joe Quick, who becomes his friend in the process. Joe is skeptical of any one person having too much power, and does not agree to anything nor does anyone else at the first meeting.
At the second meeting, James Stratus presents the Imperial Remnant’s support in the New Order under his leadership, as well as the support of Hapes, bringing in Coruscant and Kuat. Joe Quick concedes that central leadership and government is necessary for peace, and throws in his support, convincing his subjects. A third meeting is called, which a charter is drafted. After the fifth meeting, the charter is approved and sent to the people of the galaxy for ratification, taking effect immediately. The Imperial Republic is created, with Josefus A. Quick installed immediately as the President of the Senate, Minister of State, Ambassador-in-Chief, and Supreme Chancellor of the Imperial Republic. He immediately organized special elections of senators throughout the galaxy, and special elections and appointments of new leaders and representatives for the Corellian sector.
