2 years before the formation of the Imperial Republic, Dayton was a member of the Imperial Remnant, a graduate of one of the Remnant’s military colleges. Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant at the age of 22, Dayton distinguished himself as a Stormtrooper Officer well versed in command tactics, and command leadership skills. Developing his skills in assault forces, he was promoted fairly fast in 2 years, till the Imperial Republic was formed. He was a Major in the Storm Corps. At this time, the Storm Corps was absolved into the main Army forces of the IR, at which time he began to work again, this time in securing peace. He was promoted one more time a year after the formation of the IR to Lieutenant Colonel. At this point, he took up a position of a training officer at one of the various military academies, wanting some time to develop his education. At the time that the IRSB was created, after 4 years of existence the IR was currently in, Dayton was earmarked by the leadership and was recruited into the Security Bureau as a Lieutenant Colonel. Upon entering the IRSB, he was placed into the Bureau of Operations. For a time of 13 years, he worked in Operations, taking place in many undercover operations and assisting Intelligence in various ways. 2 years before the betrayal of Oho Gamao, Coral Daytonw as given a mission to go deeply undercover in militaristic extreme cults based in the Outer Rim. These cults were corrupting the minds of enlisted personnel and newly commissioned officers, and the Security Bureau was concerned. Sending in one of its most distinguished and accomplished field agents, the now Lieutenant General went deep undercover. 2 years he spent in deep hiding, doing his mission. He was completly unaware of the actions that took place. Upon the betrayal of Oho Gamao, Dayton was recalled to Coruscant after the completion of the mission, which ended 5 days before the betrayal. He arrived 5 days after the betrayal, and was deeply shocked at what happened. He was then appointed the CO of the Imperial Republic Security Bureau, and promoted to full General.
