Background/History:

Alun grew up on Kuat, born into a well-off family that owned and operated a shipyard in orbit. Donaa, Alun’s mother and heiress to the shipyard fortune, worked for her father in running the company. Just before Alun’s birth, his father was executed by members of House Badine at the conclusion of the Kuati civil war for being a loyal naval officer on the side of House Stratus. William had lead a diversionary attack that helped ensure that the Stratus Royal family escaped.

Alun and his older sister, Lynn, were very close growing up, and were being groomed to be the next generation of leaders for the family business. They were taught from an early age to distrust the ruling House Badine, and that the House was responsible for their father’s murder.

At the age of eighteen, Alun decided that instead of running the family business with his sister, he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and join the navy. With House Stratus’s recent return to Kuat and following reclamation of power, Alun was now free to join the Imperial Remnant Navy without fear of reprisal to his family by House Badine.

Alun progressed through the ranks of the Navy, with most of his early billets being in the Starfighter Corps. Eventually he would move on to a few staff positions on capital ships, and then an attaché position. This is where he met his future wife, Senator Leila Bonare, freshman senator of Kuat. The young senator came from a powerful family, and was full of ambition. The two hit it off very quickly, and kept their fling secret for some time. Knowing that this secret relationship could not continue, and not wanting to lose Leila, Alun requested a transfer back to a line unit. He was granted a position with the Twelfth Kuati National Guard. This worked out perfectly, as it kept him close to home, and Leila.

Alun and Leila would marry and have a son, Aiden.

After a few years, Alun was awarded his first capital command. To accept it, he was required to transfer to the 8th Patrol Fleet in the Bilbringi Sector. He flourished in the Captain’s role, and was eventually offered command of a brand new Defender-class Battleship being assigned to the 2nd Patrol Fleet. This took him even further from home, and from his wife and young son, but he knew it would open the door to other choice assignments at Naval Headquarters mere miles from his home.

After completing his tour on the Columbia, Alun requested and was assigned to be a Military Intelligence Attaché to Kuat Sector Command. This was a long-term assignment, and allowed him to be at home full-time for a few years before his next tour of duty in the fleet.

His next tour of duty with the fleet was not to be, however, as he was chosen to command an operations unit with Military Intelligence. This meant moving to Coruscant where Military Intelligence headquarters is located, but it was convenient as Leila spent about half of her time there anyway due to her senatorial duties. They moved their permanent home to the house that Leila kept on Coruscant. Aiden, age seven at the time, initially had a hard time transitioning from life on Kuat to that on Coruscant.

After six years of leading various units at Military Intelligence, Alun was assigned to be the Fleet Operations officer for the 11th Fondor Task Force. After his tour there, Coruscant Oversector Command requested he take an advisory position on the sector’s military staff. He agreed, his family still maintaining their home on Coruscant. He then was offered the position of Deputy Director of Military Intelligence, and humbly accepted.
