Flaws:
Agaeki is very boisterous, an upfront, in-your-face person; a risk taker. This lends itself well to flying starfighters through a swarm of enemy craft, but when it comes to dealing with people, he often comes over as annoying, impatient and abrasive. This will show when Agaeki is given an order he doesn’t like. He won’t disobey it directly, but you will know he doesn’t like it.
Physical Characteristics:
Agaeki is certainly not well-built, but his baggy flight suit hides well-toned muscles. His shorter stature was one of the reasons he was selected in the academy as a fighter pilot. Medium length wavy hair that seems to fade between near-black and light brown, depending on lighting, frames a bony, angular face. Agaeki’s eyes are a very deep brown, almost black, and glint with the smile that seems to haunt his features most of the time.
Biography:
24 years ago, a small child was born on Corellia, to the proud parents Aerek and Lannia Eegas. The two loved their young firstborn, and doted upon him to a certain extent. For the first two years of his life, young Agaeki (A family name, Aerek had said) lived blissfully, provided with all the things a Corellian toddler could need.
Life seemed idyllic, but it couldn’t last. It was a quiet afternoon when it happened, Lannia was on her way to collect Agaeki from his Junior School centre when a space-port worker who had stopped off at his local pub for several too many drinks lost control of his speeder and rammed into a traffic jam in the skies above Corellia’s capital. The family’s speeder was the only one to be plucked from the air by the drunk, but Lannia was knocked unconscious and without human guidance, the vehicle pirouetted almost gracefully into the side of an automated cargo-hauler.
Aerek, seeing the crash on the news, tried desperately to get in touch with Lannia, but the family speeder had been completely destroyed by the collision and the loving wife was gone. Aerek left work early to collect Agaeki from school and take him home two long hours after the fateful explosion.
A quiet and sombre funeral came a few days later, and Aerek was was morose, occasionally remembering that he had his son to care for but most of the time too lost in the emptiness of his life to even care about the world around him. The time passed, and the young Agaeki began to learn independence; how to get by with only the passing attentions from his father.
About 18 months later, Aerek arrived home from work earlier than usual, up in his room Agaeki realised that his father had not stopped off at a bar on the way home as he usually did, to try and drowns his sorrows in alcohol. When he called up the stairs to his son, Agaeki realised that he actually sounded happy, for almost the first time since the accident. Something had obviously happened at work, and from that day forward things looked up: Father and son started talking again, a little at first, but gradually healing something of the rift that Lannia’s death had caused.
When Agaeki graduated, he had no idea what he wanted to go on to do to make his living amongst the world. One day whilst riding home on public transport from a somewhat unsuccessful job interview, he saw a poster advertising the armed services of the Galactic Government. Enforcing Republic law, throuhgout the galaxy. Agaeki to join the new government, to help bring order to the troubled galaxy. Going through the academy, Agaeki made friends, and managed to come fourth in his class upon graduation, his father beaming proudly through the ceremony in spite of his misgivings at Agaeki’s career choice - he certainly didn’t want to lose his last family member prematurely.
Out of the academy, Agaeki’s progress was good, but not distinguishably so. After a few years of promotions, flying as a squaddie, Agaeki was proudly promoted to the true officer ranks and given his own squadron to command; Predator Squadron, aboard the fleet’s flagship - the Avenger.
